It's spelled PUSSY. As defined by Diarist it defines someone as "cowardly". It is synonymous with "wussy", as in "wuss". If you want to go even further "scaredy cat". It is used millions of times around the world, by all the sexes. And 99.999+% of the time it has absolutely nothing to do with the female genitalia. It is used in sports and business worldwide also. It is as common a slang term to represent a lack of aggression as you will find.
I have played sports my entire life. My mother, who bless her heart carted us all to all the practices, has used the word "pussy"...many times. Thanks mom. I guarantee that not one instance did it occur to her that saying "pussy" was a reference to her "you know what."
I play masters rugby today. I guarantee that I have heard the word "pussy" many, many times...and the last thing we have on our minds to keep from getting our dicks ground in the dirt is female genitalia. In fact, many of us still play to get as far away from the female genitalia as we can.
I have 3 kids, all athletes, one professional. Two daughters and a son. The daughters have used the word "pussy". Body contact while swinging a stick with your head inches away from getting cleaved will definitely bring out the p word. I guarantee that the very furthest thing from their minds when say the word "pussy" was their...
btw, one of the daughters and I got a good laugh out of the whole premise when I forwarded it over. She commented that the people who rec'd it probably hadn't used the term properly their whole lives. She is going to bring it up for discussion in her Female Studies course this semester.
I coach a high school sport. I would say that I say in my head while evaluating players 5 times a season, "what a pussy". I guarantee that the very furthest thing on my mind when I am saying "what a pussy" is the female love muffin.
In my business, I have used the word "pussy", and as you all know, have heard the term many many times also. In business, the last thing you should be doing, or thinking about, you know, is pussy.
I mentioned the premise of the diary to my girlfriend. Her response? What a pussy...
In government, I have heard the word "pussy", and I would guarantee...
wait a minute, bad example...
Now I have just spent my time dealing with the intended highjacking of a definition that is ingrained in our language as slang. I haven't even touched on the sexist aspect of the diary, and frankly, the attack on masculinity in the comments. People, masculinity is not something bad. It is in all the sexes to a certain extent. If our masculinity offends you, it's not our fault. It is who we are.
So with all that being said, flame away...just don't call me a "pussy".
